About Hammond, Phillips, Melvin, Butler & more!!!!
Please sign in to see more.
I began my research in March 2006, and had recently begun to think I was reaching the end of the research road ...... but since then I have visited more relatives, gathered more stories, uncovered more links and added more names and photos to this website - as well as undercovering the badly overgrown grave of Zebulon and Betsy Butler (together with his mother Mary, and daughter Elizabeth Wright Butler) at Sedgley. Most recently I have been assisted by Ken Scott via ancestry.co.uk and am now focused on the Winsper family - with Facebook proving to be a great help - Facebook has also connected me to the Warltire family. I have contacted many "new" relatives previously, and now I am able to share these details with those who may share my interest via Tribal Pages. There are three albums on this site, one of family photos, one containing certificates and newspaper articles and one containing photos of family gravestones - Any photos/certificates/information you may wish to add would be much appreciated .... contact me for details on how to send them to me.

The main family remains in Walsall, West Midlands - but many relatives are known to have moved away at some point in history, some even outside the UK.

The Hammond family is traced back to the 1700s in Ludlow and the surrounding area in Shropshire, the Phillips family also go back to Shropshire, the Butler family have always been in and around the Black Country - Tipton and Darlaston especially and the Melvins came across from southern Ireland in the 1840s, stopping first in Liverpool before making their way to Walsall, presumably for work during the hard times in Ireland.

Should you find any inaccuracies, errors or omissions, please let me know.

Hope you enjoy your visit - however you have been directed to this site .... ..... PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS IN THE GUESTBOOK......
and save this site to your favourites and come back often as I am still updating the content.

If we are connected via a distant branch of my tree and you see I have not researched it fully, do let me know and I will try to delve further back specifically for you.

Best wishes - hope you enjoy this look back at our family. THANKS FOR LOOKING !!

Elaine

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
